Over the weekend I got to go to an exciting event hosted at Muse (my favorite place on earth- my hair salon!). It was a launch event of the new makeup line they now will be carrying! They have brought the talented Israel Edri on board with the Halo Luxury Make up line. Israel Edri created Halo from the finest quality ingredients on today’s market. He not only has over 15 years of experience, but he has worked with top companies like Estée Lauder, CHANEL, Givenchy, and Elizabeth Arden. There were models and staff members walking around with their makeup done displaying his work and I even got to watch how they do the eye brow threading. There was also some beautiful art work on display by Joshua Oliveira, who was also performing live art during the event. Go LIKE Muse on Facebook because they are always have fun events you want to be involved in! And if you’re looking for a new salon I highly recommend checking them out!
In memory of my grandmothers passing, I’d like to dedicate this post to her. She was the epitome of class and sophistication and was the most influential person in my life, especially when it came to pursuing my career in fashion. She always reminded me “I dressed you in baby Dior ya know”. I was a very well dressed child thanks to her. She would cut out newspaper articles with anything pertaining to fashion to show me, and was up to date on the latest trends. She would tell me stories of being my age living in the East Village and staying out all night at underground jazz clubs, dressed head to toe in black of course. She marched to a beat of her own drum (figures where I get it from). Before her passing I showed her this blog and some new styling photos. She was beyond proud, so it’s only fitting I dedicate a post to her. Below are some of my favorite photos of her from the early 50’s and 60’s. I miss her dearly and I am so lucky to have had her as my grandmother.
Being it’s officially Fashion Week, I figured I’d share some behind the scenes photos from last years show I worked! I was the assistant stylist on the Falguni and Shane Peacock SS13 show under celebrity stylist Leila Baboi. Enjoy!
This time last year I was living in New York City. I ended up working as a assistant stylist on a MBFW show at Lincoln Center. So its really bumming me out I am back here in Florida missing out on all the fashion week excitement! BUT there is this wonderful little website called Fashion Week Online! They live stream from the Big 4, private runway shows and have everything from interviews with celebrities, designers, stylists and models to make up tutorials straight from the runway! So if you aren’t able to teleport to fashion week definitely check out this site! You can also follow them on Twitter for the latest updates @FashionWkOnline
